This advanced training is designed for couples and sex therapists looking to deepen their clinical skills in addressing low sexual desire and fostering greater intimacy in romantic partnerships. Building on the previous two-hour presentation, this expanded session offers a more focused and practical guide to working with low desire in couples therapy.
Over the course of three hours, participants will review key concepts from the biopsychosocial model of sexual functioning and explore selected techniques from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and integrative psychosexual therapy. The training will move beyond introductory overviews to highlight practical applications of these models, including how to identify and respond to common clinical patterns such as desire discrepancies, intimacy avoidance, and sexual communication challenges.
Zoom link will be available on course page in “My Courses” upon event registration.
This program, when attended in its entirety, offers 3.0 CEs for Psychologists, 3.0 IL CEUS for Counselors and Social Workers, 3.0 BBS California CEUs for LPCCs, LPSWs, and LMFTs, 3.0 AASECT CEs for Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists, or 3.0 NBCC Clock Hours.
