Job Description

Provide direct and indirect services to clients and staff.  Facilitate all Access team consultations, team dispositions, staff meeting or other meetings as directed by Assistant Director.  Assist in supervision and annual performance evaluations of treatment team.  Provide clinically appropriate treatment responses to staff and clients in order to maintain stability and integrity of the program.  JOB ID#C08854A
 

Key Responsibilities

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:  Provide direct and indirect client services.
 
Participate in assertive assessment and evaluation of homeless mentally ill individuals.  Determine individual’s strengths, needs and resources.  Assess client’s level of psychosocial impairment, self-care potential, family and support network availability, independent living needs, financial status, educational, employment or training needs, and social/recreational needs. 
 
Conduct weekly dispositions.  Responsible for administering crisis and day-to-day functions of the program.  Provide individual and team supervisions on a weekly basis to all team members to facilitate effective service provision to clients.
 
Oversee clinical structure within the milieu and provide ongoing oversight and trainings to Access staff to increase understanding of mental health diagnoses and crisis intervention skills.
Develop and oversee implementation of psychoeducational groups within the milieu setting.
 
Provide crisis intervention – intervene with the client/others at the onset of a crisis to provide support and assistance in problem resolution and to coordinate or arrange for the provision of other needed services.
 
 

Skills & Experience

EDUCATION:
The ideal candidate must have a master of social work, or equivalent from an accredited school of social work or related program. Must be registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Current status as a licensed professional under California law.
Minimum of two (2) years experience in a behavioral health care; experience with chronically mentally ill.  Knowledge of DSM-V required.  Chemical dependency experience preferred.
Must have a good driving record and must be insurable by Center’s insurance company.
