Job Title: Bilingual Social Skills Therapist – Parent Support (Pomona, CA)
Pay Rate: $30/hour
Location: Pomona, California
Schedule: Evenings and/or Saturdays (Center-Based)

We are a center dedicated to helping children and teens develop strong social and emotional skills utilizing the only evidence-based social skills curriculum proven to improve social functioning. Our goal is to create a supportive environment for both youth and their parents, empowering families to build lasting social success together.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Social Skills Therapist to work with parents while their children participate in our center-based social skills groups. This therapist will provide parent support sessions, guiding families in understanding the week’s social skills topics and teaching them how to reinforce these skills at home.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate parent support sessions that align with the children’s or teens’ concurrent social skills classes.

  • Lead structured discussions and activities to help parents practice and reinforce skills taught that week.

  • Provide education, tools, and strategies for parents to support their child’s social development outside of group sessions.

  • Maintain a warm, engaging, and supportive group environment for families.

  • Monitor attendance and participation, and provide feedback to the program team.

  • Participate in training to ensure fidelity to the evidence-based curriculum.

  • Write assessment and progress reports.

 

Skills & Experience

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education, or related field (preferred).

  • Experience working with parents, families, or caregivers in a therapeutic, educational, or community setting.

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.

  • Compassionate, patient, and able to create a positive group dynamic.

  • Willingness to complete training and ongoing supervision.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $30 per hour.
